Scholar Update from Damian Mozier, a 2022 Ridley High School graduate and TCF Health Professions Scholarship recipient!
"Since my last update, a lot has happened. I am now in my third year of Drexel University’s five-year combined BS/MS program in Biomedical Engineering, and I’m making great progress. For over a year, I have been working as a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research, where I focus on studying the heterogeneity of tau protein in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
This September, I had the opportunity to participate in an intensive course abroad in Chile, centered on global aging. In October, I traveled to Toronto, Canada, to attend the Neuro2024 conference, where I presented a poster and delivered a brief talk. Most recently, I contributed to a published paper titled “Targeting Endogenous Tau in Seeded Tauopathy Models Inhibits Tau Spread” in the Journal of Neuroscience (doi.org/10.1523/JNEUROSCI.0877-24.2024)."

Keep Music Alive is a proud grantee of ours at TCF! And, with grants through our City of Chester Giving program they have made exciting progress this year. By the end, they will have hosted over 110 Musical Instrument Petting Zoo events, 16 of those being held at Chester Upland Elementary Schools. As well, this fall they have started afterschool lessons, furthering their mission!

TCF has been proud to support Ruth Bennet Community Farm this year!
The farm began delivering boxes to the local Chester community in May, and will continue to Thanksgiving this year. Boxes contain about 8 different types, each with eggs and fruit.
The farm has delivered about 38,000 pounds of food this season!
