Wilbur C. and Betty Lea Henderson Scholarship
Talekar Family Health Professions Scholarship

These individual health professions scholarships are awards of $7,000 to support students pursuing careers in human health professions (e.g., doctor, nurse, pharmacist, therapist, researcher, dentistry, etc.).  Applicants from the Interboro, Ridley, Southeast Delco, Wallingford-Swarthmore, Springfield, or Rose Tree Media School Districts are eligible.   TCF anticipates, at least, 15 Health Professions Scholarship awards each year.

Brittany Redden Action, Vision and Empowerment  (B.R.A.V.E.) Scholarship 

The Brittany Redden Action, Vision, and Empowerment Fund (B.R.A.V.E.) was established in 2025 by Vicky and Ira Redden to honor the life and legacy of the daughter, Brittany Redden, whose generous spirit, compassion, and unwavering dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Established in loving memory of Brittany Redden, the B.R.A.V.E. Fund honors her courageous spirit and compassionate heart. Brittany lived bravely — speaking out, showing up, and striving to make the world more just and kind. Through this fund, her legacy lives on in students, leaders, and organizations working boldly to create a stronger, more inclusive community.
 
This merit-based scholarship supports students from Delaware County, PA, pursuing careers in the healthcare professions, human services, human development, psychology, social work, the culinary arts, or vocational or technical trades – fields that reflect Brittany’s deep commitment to service, nourishment, and care of both body and soul. Eligible recipients may be enrolled in traditional four-year colleges and universities, two-year programs, trade schools, or alternative credentialing or certification programs that prepare them for meaningful work in these areas.
Whether through healing, advocacy, essential skilled services, or feeding others with intention and love, recipients of this scholarship are individuals who strive to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of others. They embody Brittany’s enduring values of empathy, generosity, and integrity, and are dedicated to carrying forward a legacy rooted in service, compassion, and heartfelt connection.

Chester Community Scholarships 

Isiah and Tommie Lee Jones Youth in Action Scholarship

Dora and John Brown Scholarship

Lawrence Murray, Sr. Scholarship

In honor of Dora and John Brown, Lawrence Murray Sr., and Isiah A. Jones Sr. & Tommie Lee Jones—respected lifelong residents and mentors in Chester, PA—these scholarships support graduating seniors or those pursuing post-secondary education and who exemplify academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to higher education.

Multiple scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Reside in Chester or attend high school within the Chester-Upland School District

  • Actively involved in community service

  • Plan to attend a nonprofit college, university, or trade school during the 2026–2027 academic year

The Lawrence Murray, Sr. Scholarship is designated for students of African-American ethnicity. 

Dora and John Brown Scholarship and Lawrence Murray, Sr. Scholarship are only awarded to applicants who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher either as current or former students.

All scholarship funds will be paid directly to the attending institution.

The TGJ Shine On Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Tiffany Grossi Johnson. In earning this scholarship, the female scholar-athletes are not only rewarded financially, but recognized as pillars of excellence among her peers, teachers, teammates, and community – just as Tiffany was. At least three (3) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. One (1) scholarship will be awarded to a female scholar-athlete from Ridley High School. One (1) scholarship will be awarded to a female scholar-athlete from Springfield High School. One (1) scholarship will be awarded to a female scholar-athlete from elsewhere in Delaware County. The scholarships will be paid directly to the student’s college/university/trade school.

Coach Josie Harper Scholarship

The Coach Josie Harper Scholarship honors the legacy of Jo Ann “Josie” Harper (Class of ’61), Penncrest High School’s former Women’s Athletic Director and Coach. This award will be granted annually to a Penncrest female athlete who demonstrates academic excellence, embodies strong moral character, and has financial need. Josie Harper was a trailblazer in women’s athletics, a mentor, and a leader whose influence reached far beyond Penncrest, and this scholarship continues her legacy by supporting the next generation of women student-athletes.

Happy Soles 

Janet Bollinger Doherty Law School Scholarship

This scholarship, funded by TCF’s Happy Soles Fund, supports current or former residents of Delaware County, PA, who are pursuing a law degree. We welcome applications from students whose character and actions reflect the spirit of Janet—a beloved mother, friend, attorney, cancer survivor, and community leader. The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who best exemplifies Janet’s legacy through a commitment to philanthropy, academic excellence, involvement in sports, and a meaningful connection to music or the arts.

Career Pathways Scholarship

 

Applications for those invited to apply will be open in Spring, 2026.

The Career Pathways Scholarship is designed to supplement other available aid and ensure that financial barriers do not prevent Williamson students from succeeding. This scholarship is available to incoming freshmen and rising juniors at Williamson College of the Trades who have been accepted to Williamson and invited to apply by Williamson staff.

Awards are determined based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of scholarship funds. Scholarship support will first be applied to fees, supplies, and books; if funds remain, additional support may be applied to tuition, room, and board.

Williamson Alumni Career Pathways Scholarship

for Additional Higher Education

The merit-based Career Pathways Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors and alumni of Williamson College of the Trades who are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree at a 4-year institution in Pennsylvania or at Rowan University. Awards of $500-$5,000 will be dependent upon the applicant’s demonstrated leadership and academic success while a student at Williamson and the availability of scholarship funds under this program. Special consideration will be given to applicants who exhibit both merit and financial need. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
